Katherine Ryan says she would love more children as she approaches 40th birthday

Katherine Ryan has said she is “always trying to conceive” and would love to have more children with husband Bobby Kootstra as she approaches her 40th birthday.

The comedian, 39, spoke about having more children – and the limitations her three kids have on her love life – on Friday’s episode of the Chris and Rosie Ramsey show.

The TV star said the pair don’t get intimate that often due to having two young children – Fred, two, and Fenna, who was born in December 2022. Ryan also has a teenage daughter, Violet, from a previous relationship.

When asked how often the couple have sex, she said: “Not very often. I log it because I’m always trying to conceive! Day to day we’re back and forth about having more babies.

“I will never allow him to get the snip! I just really love kids. Look, I’m 40 this year, we’ll see!”

Speaking about having young children, Ryan added: “We’re 40, we’re married and we’re very patient with each other, we communicate and we’ve lived these lives, but we have these f**king infants. I think we’re good parents and we’re very privileged but it kicks the living s**t right out of you.”

It comes as the pair confirmed they had signed up to appear on the new series of Celebrity Gogglebox.

They will join series stalwarts Zoe Ball, Johnny Ball and Woody Cook, Denise Van Outen and Duncan James, plus Shaun Ryder and Bez when the Channel 4 show returns on June 16.

Confirming the news to The Sun, Ryan said: “It’s usually just the dogs who get to see us watch TV, so we’re excited to welcome viewers into our home as we decompress in our favourite spot – the sofa.

“We’ve been huge Gogglebox fans for years and we are thrilled to be taking part.”

Ryan and Koostra were teenage sweethearts and reconnected after two decades in 2018 while she was filming for BBC genealogy programme Who Do You Think You Are? in her native Ontario.

In 2019, they entered into a civil partnership, opting to conduct their ceremony in Denmark because it was “quickest and easiest”.
