Katherine Ryan has revealed she "got pregnant first time of trying" with her third baby.
The comedian, 39, recently told her fans that she was expecting her third child just a month after her son Fred turned one in her podcast Telling Everybody Everything.
However, it seems Katherine didn't have any issues when it came to getting pregnant this time around – after tragically suffering two miscarriages before her pregnancy with Fred.
Speaking to Heat magazine Katherine said she was concerned about getting pregnant due to her age but had a much easier experience than anticipated.
She said: "I was shocked when it worked on the first try. I didn't think that was going to happen, because the narrative is 'you're getting older now so...'.
"We had a little bit of trouble with losses before we had our son Fred and I thought, 'we'd best start trying as soon as I get my period back'. Then when it worked the very first time I was like 'oh...'."
The 39-year-old shared her happy news on an episode of her podcast, Katherine Ryan: Telling Everybody Everything.
Katherine already has two children — one-year-old Fred with her husband Bobby Kootstra, 38, and 12-year-old Violet, from a previous relationship.
Saying that she won't reveal how far along in the pregnancy, she said: "You should never tell people your due date. If you never tell them, they can never start hassling you around that time."
Katherine reiterated on her podcast that she had worries about becoming pregnant aged 39.
She said: "You guys know I'm pregnant, I've been pregnant for a while and here's how I did that. I got pregnant while breastfeeding the first time I tried and to be honest with you I don't think it's going to work because I'm 39 – I would have been 38 when I got pregnant.
"And I thought 'we've got to get the kids out of the way'. You never know how long you're gonna have and I love my kids. I just thought, 'well let's go for it.'"
Katherine was still breastfeeding her son Fred when she got pregnant and didn't expect to get pregnant again so quickly.
The star recalled how she was on stage when she felt a sharp pain that lasted a few minutes, which she remembered she had experienced in the early stages of her pregnancy with Fred, one.
The TV personality said she 'forgot' about trying to get pregnant and decided to wait until she was ovulating to try properly.
Katherine added: "I thought maybe I'm getting my period. And I didn't expect to get a period this month as I could because these things have to even themselves out after your first period when you're breastfeeding.
"Soon after... days later I had a positive pregnancy test."
