Katherine Ryan has spoken out against a mum-shamer who posted a critical comment under a photo of her with her newborn daughter, Fenna Grace.
The comedian shared a slew of photos on Instagram on Monday (February 6) featuring her one-month-old as well as her older children, 18-month-old Fred, and Violet, 13.
In one photo, The Duchess star cuddled her baby daughter with a glass of wine on the table in front of her at London hotel Claridge’s.
And it appeared that this particular snap irked a critical social media user, who penned under the post: “Enough with the wine drinking whilst still breastfeeding.
“I couldn’t care less about statistics about percentages. Alcohol isn’t healthy for adults... never mind babies.”
In response to criticism, Ryan defended herself and penned: “Kera my small children are smart enough to slowly explain to you why it’s fine.”
Just last week, the funnywoman received another pointed comment after she posted a photo of herself feeding her little one while toasting the camera with a glass of white wine.
The social media user wrote under the snap: “With all due respect drinking & breastfeeding is the same as drinking while pregnant!”
To which, she replied: “With all due respect you’re speaking out of your a**.”
Ryan announced the birth of her daughter with childhood sweetheart Bobby Kootstra in December.
On Instagram, Kootstra shared a picture of Ryan who was in a birthing pool at home, and another image of the new-born child sleeping.
He captioned it: “Fenna Grace Kootstra. Dec 16, at 12:05am. Mom is incredible! Proving her strength repeatedly through the relatively lengthy delivery at home. We are so blessed.”
Ryan, who has a 13-year-old daughter, also shares a son with Kootstra, born in 2021.
She previously told The Jonathan Ross Show that she was considering having a home birth with her third child as she gives birth “quickly”, having nearly had her first child in the back of a mini-cab.
Ryan is starring in upcoming Romantic Getaway, which is written by and stars comedian Romesh Ranganathan and will air on Sky in January.
