Katherine Heigl's 'timeless' bathroom color is replacing white – here's why it has long-lasting appeal

2024 is all about using warm neutrals; bathroom design is no exception. While traditional bathrooms are all white, shades like brown, pink, and beige are becoming more popular than ever on bathroom walls, in showers, and as part of the sink.

Katherine Heigl is an early adopter of the trend. The actress took to Instagram to share a sweet video joking around with her hair stylist and friend, Josh Kelly, but our eyes were most drawn to the brown bathroom marble

Katherine's bathroom features large brown quartz tiles around the sink and the bathtub and brushed light brown walls arching up the ceiling. The tan tiles include chocolatey and pink accents, creating an interesting and visually captivating look.

Interior designers admire the effects of this bathroom color scheme. 'Beige and brown natural stone and tile can provide a warm and calming feel to a bathroom space,' says Ariella Duker, interior designer at Ariella Duker Interiors. 'It references nature with its earth tones and can ground spaces that can otherwise feel a bit utilitarian and cold.'

'A beige bathroom is a great way to bring the warm neutrals trend into your home,' says Jennifer Ebert, digital editor at Homes & Gardens. 'This color trend can help make a space feel more cozy, while using beige and brown on marble tiles creates a luxurious and classic effect.'

Experts further admire the versatility of Katherine's bathroom wall. Ariella states: 'Installing natural beige stones like Limestone or Travertine, for example, offers so much natural variation and interest inherent in their composition, developed over the years. These stones are so versatile, they can be used in both contemporary or traditional applications.'

This year is about being bold, even when decorating with neutrals. Katherine Heigl knows it. By following her example, you can create a stylish, cozy, and naturally inspired bathroom that will impress for even longer.
