Kathan Patel replaces Prithvi Shaw in West Zone Deodhar Trophy squad

MUMBAI: Gujarat opener Kathan Patel has replaced batsman Prithvi Shaw, who is set to embark on huis maiden County cricket stint with Northamptonshire, in the West Zone Deodhar Trophy squad.

The 26-year-old has scored 569 runs in 18 List A matches@35.36, with two hundreds and one fifty. In the 2022-23 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he scored 278 runs in six matches@46.33, with one century and one fifty.

The Deodhar Trophy - an inter-zonal one-day tournament, is being revived after a gap of four years, and will be played at Puducherry from July 24-August 3.

Gujarat opener Priyank Panchal, who is currently leading West Zone in the Duleep Trophy, will be the captain in the Deodhar Trophy too.
