You might have noticed the A-list squeeze in London at the moment. No? Well, there is one nonetheless — the stars and their perfectly made-up children are, one by one, crossing the Atlantic for the most stylish Bank Holiday bash there is… the coming Met Gala, on Monday.
As New York becomes the global epicentre for the rich, famous and fabulous, not a few bright sparks have set about throwing some parties in the run up. One such thinker: our very own King Charles. On Thursday night, his charity soirée, The King's Trust 2024 Global Gala, unfolded in usual style: by that I mean Charlotte Tilbury arrived with her darlings, beauty ambassadors Kate Moss, Iris Law, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez as well as US freestyle skiing Olympian Eileen Gu (sport is in this summer), and Charlotte’s niece Bella Broekman-Tilbury. Naturally, all were glowing with healthy helpings of “Charlotte’s Magic Body Cream”.
The evening’s hosts Lionel Richie and Edward Enninful put their best black tie forwards for the night at Cipriani South Street, as they joined supermodels Emily Ratajkowski, Joan Smalls, Irina Shayk and Helena Christensen. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend enjoyed a spin at the stand and repeat, while Sam Smith switched on the subversive wearing a latex trench coat.
But it’s all kids play until Monday night.
