Last Monday morning, the fashion set touched down in Paris.
Hot off the press (and ever so slightly burned out from Milan and London), editors, A-listers and designers are once again rubbing shoulders on some of the most coveted FROWs.
First up: Dior. Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman sat next to Blackpink’s Jisoo, a house ambassador who stunned in a timeless strapless Dior number to honour their close collaboration.
London socialite Iris Law was in attendance, where the It-girl sported a striped shirt, paired with tan trousers worn casually with undone suspenders.
Also waving the flag for the capital was jazz singer Poppy Ajudha, who rocked a gothic, off-the-shoulder gown to the show’s venue in Tuileries garden.
The wildcard invite went to Elon Musk’s mother, Maye Musk, who cosied up in a polka dot skirt to actress Rosamund Pike.
Later that night newly-appointed wellness guru Kate Moss stunned at the Saint Laurent show alongside supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and actress Zoe Kravitz, all of whom were dressed to the nines in black evening gowns.
Socialite and skincare entrepreneur Hailey Bieber was also seen enjoying the Eiffel Tower views from the openair runway in a (potentially dress-code breaking?) pink shirt and skirt two piece.
Then came Wednesday’s shows, with even more celeb appearances (havign enjoyed a little time to rest after New York, London and Milan).
Acne Studios’ wedding inspired show saw Kylie Jenner, Little Simz and Sex Education’s Emma Mackey on the FROW, sat on pink silk beds in place of the usual line of chairs. It was all very bridal.
Then came Balmain - with Cher making a surprise appearance on the runway. Off the catwalk, it was star studded too, with the likes of Brooklyn Beckham, Nicola Peltz and Paris Saint-Germain footballer Neymar sitting up front.
Of course, the brand loyal Kylie Jenner made a reappearance as well, switching outfits from the white cape dress she wore to Acne into a crochet mini dress with rope-style straps, before being spotted on Friday at Loewe.
Chloe saw some high status couples: Katie Holmes was sat alongside boyfriend Bobby Wooten III and actress Naomi Scott cosied up to husband and ex-England footballer Jordan Spence. Also present was Beyoncé’s resident stylist, Zerina Ackers.
And then came Off-White, where celebs turned out in droves to support designer Ib Kamara’s first show as Art & Image Director, taking over from Virgil Abloh after his death in 2021.
Style stalwarts Naomi Campbell, Erykah Badu and Anna Wintour were all front row, plus appearances from some fresh young faces too - including Halle Bailey, Evan Mock and Rickey Thompson.
Over a jam-packed weekend, star apperances only levelled up. Saturday kicked off when a heavily made-up Doja Cat took her seat by fellow singer Halsey and pro-poser Coco Rocha, before they watched Bella Hadid sport boxing gloves and Irina Shayk strut in a blown-up string of pearls on the catwalk.
It was a muddy Sunday morning, as Balenciaga invited guests into a vast grubby showspace for the SS23 runway. Ye (yes, Kayne West) opened the show, to the delight of Euphoria’s Alexa Demie, singer Charli XCX and rapper Offset who all braved the condtions to see the show.
Valentino followed and was, naturally, a flurry of A-list names wearing Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s signiture bright pink outfits. Clad in the electric shade was a striking Erykah Badu, Selling Sunset’s Christine Quinn and Riverdale actor Madelaine Petsch.
The biggest names stood out in other Valentino designs, though. Zendaya made her sparkling entrance in a crystal covered black mesh bodysuit and blazer, and sat with her stylish Law Roach and Naomi Campbell, and Florence Pugh arrived in a baby pink mini dress with long sleeves and a white cape.
Then fresh from Balanciaga’s water covered runway, Ye tackled a real downpour as he took his wet marble seat at Givenchy’s show. Matthew Williams, Creative Director of the Parisian house, previously worked for Ye at his first fashion label Pastelle and creative content company DONDA.
Still to come, AZ Factory will make for the star-studded close to today’s collections, before Chanel, Miu Miu and Louis Viuotton round off the week tomorrow.
