Kate Middleton is expected to have her title of Duchess of Cambridge changed in the near future. It comes amid Royal Family rank changes - and it will be the biggest shake up in years.
Kate has been referred to as the Duchess of Cambridge since she married Prince William in 2011. The couple married in April that year, and share three kids together: Prince George, their eldest, now aged eight, as well as Princess Charlotte and their youngest, Prince Louis.
Kate will to gain two roles with William, Duke of Cambridge, second in line to the throne. Prince Charles will lose his Prince of Wales title when he ascends the throne.
Instead, the Duke of Cambridge - Kate’s husband - will step into that coveted role. Kate will change from the Duchess of Cambridge to the Princess of Wales.
Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, turned that role down previously, report Birmingham Live. Camilla turned it down out of respect for Princess Diana when she married Charles.
Camilla will become Queen Consort when Charles becomes King. However, when the King is handed over to William, Kate will very probably be referred to as Queen Catherine - Catherine being her full name.
The reports come as the Queen celebrates 70 years on the throne last weekend with the Platinum Jubilee.
