Kate Middleton was 'banned' from Wimbledon despite begging to be allowed to go

Wimbledon is back to full capacity this year with some famous faces playing a visit to the Royal Box. The tennis competition typically hosts the Duchess of Cambridge year on year, who is a huge fan of the sport and is also patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

But it seems that one year she was stopped from attending the tournament - despite her pleas to be allowed to go - and missed a huge British win, according to the Mirror.

In 2013, Andy Murray made it to the men's final and was gunning to become the first British man to win the Grand Slam since Fred Perry in 1936. Kate appeared to be eager to be at Wimbledon to cheer him on but was heavily pregnant with Prince George at the time, so was advised to watch the match from home.
