Kate Middleton's special luggage trick when travelling around on royal tours

Packing for a long trip overseas is never easy - especially if you need both casual clothes as well as fancy evening wear.

So imagine how much planning has to go into packing the clothes the Duchess of Cambridge takes on overseas royal tours?

Usually, the tours are made up of a wide range of events from meeting and greeting local people to taking part in activities.

And that's not forgetting the glittering dresses and gowns Kate might need if she's scheduled to attend a glamorous engagement.

But rather than stuff all that she needs into suitcases and hope for the best - it seems Kate has a special trick she uses to ensure her clothes get to her destination without being creased or crumpled.

Describing what it's like to travel as a royal, royal correspondent Emily Andrews told the Channel 5 documentary 'Secrets of the Royal Flight' she has "been on a plane where Kate's dresses had their own seat to make sure they were kept flat."

She added: "They are not going to be shoved in the hold just to be squashed by everyone else's."
