Kate Lawler says 'sorry Wales' as she messes up Welsh pronunciation during This Morning broadcast

Many celebrities have tried to speak Welsh or put on Welsh accents and while some succeed, others struggle. Kate Lawler was in Aberystwyth to promote ITV1's latest competition during This Morning on Tuesday, May 1 and mispronounced diolch yn fawr (thank you very much).

Kate is on a coronation road trip for the daytime show, ahead of King Charles' coronation on Saturday, May 6, and was visiting Aberystwyth as King Charles learnt Welsh there when he was younger. Attempting to speak Welsh herself she mispronounced 'thank you'. After checking with locals sitting nearby she turned to the cameras to say "sorry Wales".

During the segment, Holly Willoughby - who was back in the studio - loved seeing Aberystwyth seafront and gushed over how pretty it looked. As Kate said she was going to "dip her toes" in the sea and enjoy the "stunning" sunny day, Holly said: "The colours of that sea going into the sky is so beautiful...oh look how beautiful that is, just gorgeous!"
