Kate Lawler has quit her job at Virgin Radio after six years after a hospital dash left her vowing to take care of herself.
The doting mum announced the news to her fans on Instagram tonight - telling them she wants to focus on her mental health and being a mum to daughter Noa.
She was rushed to hospital in recent days with a mystery illness.
The 41-year-old revealed she will get back into the world of presenting in the future, but for now she wants to take a break.
In her emotional post, she wrote: "It's not been an easy decision for me to make and I know that I'll return to radio broadcasting in the future but right now, it's time to take a break."
Kate added that bosses are planning on having her back one day as they have left the door open for her.
She continued: "Thank you to the bosses of Virgin Radio for being incredibly understanding and supportive of my decision and for holding the door open when the time is right to come back.
"I've loved working here over the past six years and I'm so grateful they wanted to make returning to work for me as easy as possible and allowed me to work flexibly, three days a week."
Signing off her post, Kate added: "I really tried to make it work while juggling lots of other projects and being a Mother, however right now, it’s no longer possible to continue the way I have been."
Just last week, Kate revealed she had a trip to hospital following a "strange day".
While she felt better after her visit, the star appeared to hint at making big changes in her life, both mentally and physically.
Speaking about that in her post, she said: "I want to be more present as a Mum, to spend as much time with my daughter before she starts nursery, then school, and to enjoy quality time together.
"I never did enough of this during maternity leave because of mental health issues and taking on too much other work outside of radio."
Kate's final show will be this Wednesday - and she says her time working with the team has been incredible, which made it harder for her to say goodbye.
