Kate Lawler in tears over idea of sending daughter to nursery as anxiety spirals

Kate Lawler was left in tears and terrified after a bumpy start settling her daughter at nursery left her 'spiralling' with safety concerns as she sought advice from fellow parents.

The BB star, 41, told how even before visiting a nursery he had major anxiety at the thought of leaving her precious 11-month old daughter Noah at nursery.

But after attending a settling in visit - designed to introduce a child into the new surroundings and staff - her hypothetical fears became a reality during a 30 minute visit.

The radio presenter took to Instagram saying she was left feeling 'confused' after she visited with her daugher Noa and worryingly witnessed her being 'twatted' twice with a toy truck by another child and even removed a potential choking hazard from another child's mouth.

In the lengthy post she explained: "Is it normal to have second thoughts after doing these sessions with your little one? I don’t want her to go anymore.

"I know I can’t wrap her up in cotton wool her entire life but what I observed yesterday and today made me worried about leaving her for two whole days a week with other people I don’t know.

And what initially she put down as hypothetical concerns were sent spiralling after what she observed leaving her looking at scrapping the nursery plan all together as her daughter has only just started to crawl.

She added: "She was twatted on the head twice in 30 minutes by another baby pulling a truck, I saw one of the kids take a stone out of his mouth and it was really wet so he’d had it in there a while. Only when he went to put it back in did I stop him. If he’d have swallowed it, goodness knows what would have happened.

"What if that was Noa? What if she swallows it and chokes? Yesterday these were hypothetical worries I dismissed but I saw a toddler do it & now I’m spiralling. I don’t know what to do."

She signed off the post questing 'whether to go with her gut' and assured followers she wasn't looking to scare parents who use nurseries but instead wanting reassurance and advice.

She admitted she herself didn't go to childcare until 3 and turned out 'ok' and admitted to being in tears at the thought of leaving her daughter next week fearing the worst as she's 'so tiny and vulnerable'.

And it appears other parents faced with her predicament had plenty of advice as she was flooded with followers responses.

One posted: "Always follow your gut lovely could it be the nursery that is making you feel weird? What about a different one or a childminder?

Another echoed the same sentiment: "Follow your gut and do what feels right for YOU. There are benefits of both scenarios and what works for your family won’t be the same for others."

A third added: "If your best friend said this to you, what would you say to her? There’s your answer xx."

A fourth simply added: "Try a different nursery."
