Kate Hudson has revealed she still earns money off her role in Christmas classic, Home Alone 2 - although it’s nothing to write home about.
The 44-year-old actress was featured as a member of the children’s choir in the opening scene of Chris Columbus’s 1992 holiday film starring Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister.
Speaking on Monday’s episode of her Sibling Revelry podcast, the Almost Famous star shared: “I still get residuals from Home Alone 2 because I sang in the chorus.
“I’m in that chorus, and then I get 10 cents every once in a while.”
Making light of his own residual payments, guest Joey Lawrence, who starred in Blossom, Gimme a Break! and Brotherly Love in his youth, shared: “Sometimes I’ll get, like, 2 cents and I’m like, ‘Wait. Doesn’t the envelope and paper cost more?’”
To which Hudson quipped: “At least they’re being fair and honest.”
In terms of recognition, her part in Home Alone 2 was so tiny that she didn't even get a credit for the film.
According to IMDb, her initial credited appearance was on Party Of Five in 1996. But it wasn't until 1998, with her role in Desert Blue alongside a budding Casey Affleck, that she landed her first significant film role.
However, it was her breakout performance in 2000's Almost Famous that catapulted her to stardom.Just last month, Hudson has swapped her attention from film to music and released her debut single Talk About Love.
The film star co-wrote with Linda Perry and her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa.
