Kate Garraway updates fans on Derek Draper's health after losing his vital medication

Kate Garraway has shared an update on her husband Derek Draper's health after she accidentally left his vital medication in a black cab.

The Good Morning Britain star's husband is still in recovery from COVID-19 after being admitted to intensive care with back in March 2020.

Following her black cab mishap, Kate took to Twitter to beg her fans for some helpful advise.

The TV presenter, 55, tweeted: " @BC_Lostproperty help!! Have just brought Derek home in a mobility black cab from hospital for a weekend visit.

“I have left a case with all his meds and kit in the front.

“The driver recognised me but may not know it’s there - please look and get in touch - need urgently!!"

And a number of days after the worrying incident, Kate has shared an update on her husband's health as concerned fans shared their well wishes over the weekend.

Thanks to the help of a loyal fan, Derek's vital medicine was returned to the couple after a follower who knew the cab driver got in touch with the TV presenter following her public plea.

At the time, the helpful fan wrote: “I know the driver Kate as he mentioned he'd taken you and your husband to me this evening. I’m trying to get in touch right now.”

Taking to Twitter on Monday morning, Kate thanked her dedicated fans for their hard work in retrieving Derek's medicine.

The grateful star penned: "It’s been returned! Thanks to all who reached out - the message got to driver lovely Robert who has returned it - phew and thanks to all."

Kate's beloved husband Derek spent more than a year in hospital after being struck by Covid in March 2020.

He returned home over a year later and now receives 24/hour care.

Derek's condition after Covid is so bad that Kate previously admitted that if Derek was left unaided for three days in a row, he could die.

Kate is currently caring for Derek herself and has insisted that she will never give up on the hopes that he will return to full health.
