Kate Garraway posted a sweet tribute to her Good Morning Britain colleague, as she departed her role. The much-loved presenter has been at the helm of the ITV breakfast show for years, but she took to Twitter to pay tribute to producer and news editor Liz Little as they marked their final shift on the show.
Kate was full of praise for her friend and admitted she would be missed. Kate shared her Liz's tweet on social media, and wished her luck in her latest endeavour. Presenter Kate usually appears on Good Morning Britain alongside the likes of Ben Shephard, Susanna Reid and Adil Ray, reports The Mirror.
Taking to Twitter, Liz wrote: "Today I wrapped up my last @gmb shift surrounded by the very best - the most talented, creative & caring crew in telly. I’ve been beyond lucky to work with colleagues I consider best friends & am forever in awe of them.
"But for now it’s time for a new adventure at @itn / @ITVX ." Kate then replied to the tweet and wrote alongside it: "Good luck ! You’ll be missed x" as her fans rushed to offer their best wishes to Liz too.
One wrote: "Good luck in all you do. Happy days ahead," as another added: "Good luck in the future whatever you're going to do."
Kate previously gave an update on her husband Derek Draper, as her husband battles the long-term effects of Covid. She was nominated for a National Television Award for her documentary about Derek, something she described as bittersweet.
"It's bittersweet, because you wouldn't really want to be in a position to be making that documentary because it wouldn't be a situation that you would choose," she said. " However, there were many nights when we feared Derek will be taken from us completely. So the fact that he fights on so incredibly, and we have the chance to care for him, is a fantastic thing.
"And to have the opportunity to celebrate the amazing work carers do, the professional carers, the millions of unpaid carers all across the country that are looking after loved ones, I think is a fantastic thing."
Former political lobbyist Derek, 55, was rushed to hospital after developing a life-threatening infection earlier this year. Kate has been sharing insights into her daily juggling of life on TV and being a carer for her husband, as he fights to improve his health amid complications.
