Kate Garraway is pulling out all the stops for Christmas as her husband Derek Draper continues to recover from Covid-19.
The former spin doctor, 55, was released from hospital earlier this month after contracting sepsis and will thankfully be spending the festive season with his family.
Kate, also 55, is caring for her husband as well as presenting Good Morning Britain, but got into the festive spirit when she shared a string of gorgeous pics.
In one, her kids Darcey, 16 and Billy, 13 are seen standing next to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree.
In another, Kate's rarely seen parents smile for the camera as they help their daughter take the huge tree out of her car.
Kate captioned the snaps: "So they say it takes a village to raise a child, but how many does it take to raise a Christmas tree?
"Well in my case (altogether now sing along), 5 exasperated shop workers, 4 helpful neighbours, 3 frazzled parents, 2 excited kids & NOT a partridge in a pear tree but my Peugeot.
"Even my own mother didn’t believe I could get a 6-foot tree in but I knew my Percy Peugeot wouldn’t let me down!
"So worth it to see the kids so happy, ready for Christmas."
Kate's festive post comes after the star told GMB viewers how her family was coping as Derek waits more treatment.
Speaking during a special broadcast from Whiston Hospital, Merseyside, she said: "I know with my own experience with Derek.
"Finally got into the Long Covid clinic after a year-and-a-half to an amazing group of people that are working on the impact of Covid damage, and they said 'we're going to get you into this person, that person, we're going to take action'.
"The appointments have now come through for (20)23 and (20)24, so you're talking about four years from the impact."
Kate and Derek have been married since 2005, but have faced a difficult two years as the former lobbyist's health deteriorated after he contracted coronavirus in 2020.
The mum-of-two has been candid about how the family have been affected, revealing in October how she has been sometimes "frustrated, emotional and depressed" caring for Derek, but desperately "wants him to survive".
Despite the enormous strain she is undoubtedly under, Kate is said to want to make this Christmas a time for celebration.
The star has reportedly hired a chef to take care of Christmas dinner while she spends time with her loved ones.
Ahead of the big day, a source said: "Kate's not holding back this year - she's already found a chef who can cook a full Christmas meal for them."
