Kate Ferdinand has revealed the gender of her second baby with husband Rio Ferdinand.
The former TOWIE star, 31, sat down with Rio to chat about how they broke the news to their four children - with BT Sports pundit Rio admitting the gender reveal party was 'bedlam'.
Kate also confesses to feeling insecure during her first and current pregnancies, admitting she feared Rio wasn't excited to add to their family due to already 'going through' three pregnancies before.
Speaking with husband Rio on a special Blended podcast episode, the pregnant star recalls how the happy couple planned to announce their unborn baby's sex to loved ones with the help of some cupcakes.
“We all sat down, cameras ready to film it for memories, and then we all take a bite of the first six cupcakes and no one of them has the colour,” Rio recalls.
“So it’s pink or blue, for girl or boy, and we’re all shouting and because everyone is shouting so loud, Cree in the middle just starts hysterically crying,” he adds.
Pregnant Kate chimes in to share how it was past her first-born's bedtime, as dad-of-four Rio remembers all calming down his other excited children before it was revealed the couple are expecting a baby girl later this year.
Kate then goes on to recall how Rio's three children from his marriage late wife Rebecca Ellison suspected one of them, Lorenz, would be the one to pick the special cake.
"Tate and Tia think Lorenz is the favourite so I proved to them it was not a fix - they all picked their own cake," Kate explains.
But Lorenz happened to take a bite of the cake that revealed the family are planning to welcome a baby girl into their home later this year - with Kate recalling how Tate and Tia were convinced "it was a fix".
"Cree went to bite [the cupcakes] before we were all ready because he was so excited," Rio goes on to remember.
"Tate started yelling 'no, no no' at him and frightened the life out of him so he started crying and Lorenz ends up getting the pink cupcakes," the former Manchester United footballer adds.
"It was bedlam," the future dad-of-five jokes.
Rio then pokes fun at his pregnant wife for "trying to take the spotlight" when she "choked on the cupcake".
"Can I tell you what happened?" Kate hits back with, "I'm the only one who can tell this story."
She explains: "I was so excited it was a girl I hadn't swallowed the bit of cake but then Cree started screaming, so I went over to see him and then the cake got stuck in my throat!"
"Can I just add, not one family member cared! Everyone going 'It's a girl, it's a girl' - guys, I was actually full-blown choking and I had no drink."
Laughing, Rio replies: "I thought you were alright to be honest, I didn't know it was that bad."
Discussing their household's reaction to the news a baby girl will be joining them in their home soon, Kate admits Cree "doesn't really know what's going on" and Tia "can't believe she's finally getting a girl".
"We're just so excited," Kate gushes, "I can't believe we're going to have another baby - we're going to have five children!"
Rio then jokingly accuses Kate of "getting the hump with him" - claiming his wife doesn't believe he can get excited over her pregnancy due to already having four kids.
Kate recalls feeling "a bit cuckoo" with Cree but felt Rio "didn't acknowledge she was pregnant for three to four months" - adding she feared Rio "didn't care" as it was his fourth child.
The star shares son Cree, one, with her husband, alongside Rio's three children with his late wife Rebecca Ellison; Lorenz, 15, Tate, 13, and Tia, 10.
"I was so excited when I was pregnant with Cree but I felt like you just did not care," Kate tells Rio on the latest episode of her podcast.
"When there was no bump there was no baby in your eyes, for at least three to four months.
"I started getting really emotional thinking 'he doesn't care, it's his fourth child' and that all happened with Cree - we didn't quite agree."
She adds: "You said you did, I said you didn't - we all moved on."
Rio then went on to explain how when he signed for Manchester United the club's manager Sir Alex Ferguson worried his new star signing wasn't happy, due to Rio not showing much emotion.
"I find it hard to.... I don't show my emotions like that and I don't know why," he adds when reassuring Kate.
