When it comes to celebrity homes, some speak of luxury, while others make a statement. Actor Suriya and Jyotika’s Chennai residence reportedly falls into the latter category. Located on Vijayalakshmi Street in Mahalingapuram, near T Nagar, the sprawling bungalow is estimated to be worth around Rs 200 crore. Set in one of Chennai’s upscale and green neighbourhoods, the property reportedly combines privacy, grandeur and personal touches.
A home rooted in cinema legacy
Suriya, whose real name is Saravanan Sivakumar, comes from a prominent Tamil cinema family. His father, veteran actor Sivakumar, is a well-known name in the industry, while his brother Karthi has also established himself as an actor.
Jyotika is a celebrated actress with a career spanning multiple Indian film industries. The couple first met on the sets of Poovellam Kettuppar in 1999 and got married in 2006. They have two children, Diya and Dev.
Grand interiors with personal touches
The Chennai bungalow reportedly features spacious interiors with marble flooring, statement chandeliers, Persian carpets and plush divans. Rare paintings and antique artefacts are also said to feature across the home, with several pieces reportedly curated by Jyotika.
One of the standout spaces is a dedicated divan room, designed around low seating and meant for conversations, relaxing and private film screenings. A sweeping staircase connects the different levels of the house, leading to bedrooms designed with a luxurious, hotel-suite-inspired aesthetic.
Jyotika’s bedroom reportedly features metallic-toned furniture along with a distinctive two-step staircase detail.
A landscaped garden and temple
The outdoor space adds another dimension to the property, with landscaped lawns, flowering plants, bonsai trees and medicinal herbs. The garden reportedly serves as a peaceful retreat for the family, with Suriya also known to spend time tending to plants when he is away from film sets.
The house also reportedly has an ornate in-house temple where the family conducts pujas and celebrates festivals, adding a traditional element to the otherwise contemporary interiors.
A celebrity-style wardrobe
The bungalow reportedly also features a spacious walk-in closet designed like a boutique, with organised racks, mirrored sections and dedicated storage for accessories.
According to industry anecdotes, Suriya’s suits are said to be arranged based on his film roles rather than brands, with references to characters from movies such as Singam and Soorarai Pottru .
Tamil superstar Suriya’s latest release, Vishwanth and Sons , directed by Venky Atluri and also starring Mamitha Baiju, is continuing its box office run after crossing the Rs 100 crore mark during its opening weekend. The film, which recorded strong collections over its first three days, is now entering its first weekdays with a more moderate pace.
‘Vishwanth and Sons’ box office collection
According to Sacnilk, Vishwanth and Sons has collected Rs 2.11 crore net in India so far on Day 4. The film is currently running across 2,591 shows, with an overall occupancy of 22.4%.
The film had collected Rs 20.55 crore on Sunday, Day 3. The sharp drop in collections on Monday is expected as the movie enters its first weekday after a strong weekend run.
