In an epic Diwali box office battle, Kartik Aaryan’s horror-comedy 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' has taken a slight lead over Ajay Devgn's action-packed 'Singham Again' in Sunday morning collections.
According to a report on Sacnilk.com, the early morning shows on Day 3 saw 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' earning an estimated Rs 1.48 crore, narrowly edging out 'Singham Again', which earned Rs 1.44 crore.
Despite this small advantage, the Kartik starrer still has a considerable gap to close in cumulative box office collections. As of Sunday, 'Singham Again' leads with a total estimated earnings of Rs 86.44 crore, compared to 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3's Rs 73.48 crore.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, 'BB3' brings Kartik back as the quirky protagonist Rooh Baba, along with Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit. On the other hand, 'Singham Again', directed by Rohit Shetty and starring Ajay Devgn, has been a major draw with its high-octane action sequences and patriotic theme, which has proven popular with Devgn's fanbase.
Industry experts suggest that both films are well-positioned for strong weekend performances. While the cop-action film has already hit the Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office. Both films have been enjoying an extended holiday weekend at the box office. With evening shows and the rest of the weekend still ahead, it remains to be seen which of the two films will come out victorious at the box office.
Monday will also play a major factor in deciding both films' hold over the box office in the weeks ahead.
