Karnataka: Three kids die after father pushes them into a well

MANGALURU: A father of three children has been charged with murder, after he allegedly pushed his children into a well, resulting in them drowning. He is also accused of pushing his wife into the well, and later jumping into the well himself, near his house in Mulki police station limits on Thursday.

The deceased are Rashmitha,13, Uday,11, and Deekshith,4. However, his wife Lakshmi and the accused survived, and the police have arrested Hithesh Shettigar,42, a resident of Padmanur, Mulki. DCP (law and order) Hariram Shankar said that the case has been booked under IPC Section 302 (punishment for murder), at the Mulki police station, and an investigation is on.
