MANGALURU: Leader of opposition in legislative council, B K Hariprasad, has urged the government to compensate families who lost properties due to floods and natural calamities.
He was speaking after visiting Gurupura, Mugerkudru in Adyapadi, Meenakalya and various places in Ullal on Tuesday. He said the government should immediately resettle those who lost their homes due to natural calamities. “The compensation, which is being distributed by the district administration through tahsildars is meagre, and not sufficient for the families. The government should announce packages whenever people suffer losses due to natural calamities,” Hariprasad said.
