BENGALURU: While the top leadership in both the JD(S) and BJP have agreed to a pre-poll alliance ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Sunday, opposition has already begun resonating with MLAs coming out in the open to express their concerns.
Gurmitkal JD(S) greenhorn Sharana Gouda Kandakur, speaking to TOI, said the party’s decision may have repercussions on the future of the regional outfit as there are several legislators, sitting and former, who are dependent on the party to win in electoral politics.
"I have been citing that the party’s decision may confuse our cadre who have fought tooth and nail with the BJP in several key constituencies. While some may have individual sway, many are dependent upon the JD(S) for their survival. What will happen to them? I continue to oppose this decision until some clarity is given by our leadership. The leadership needs to convene a meeting of the concerned MLAs and take their opinion” said Kandakur.
