Karnataka: Mekedatu padayatra set to resume today

Mekedatu Covid-19 Ramanagara Bengaluru Bharatiya Janata Party

BENGALURU: The ruling BJP and opposition Congress seem to be headed for another showdown with the Ramanagara district administration refusing permission for the second phase of Mekedatu padayatra citing Covid-19 restrictions.

The ‘Walk for water’ is all set to resume on Sunday, with AICC general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala expected to arrive as a special invitee to inaugurate the 60km event, which is demanding early implementation of Mekedatu reservoir and drinking water project.
