Karnataka: Man’s headless body found in well

Belagavi (Geopolitical Entity) Police

BELAGAVI: A body with no head was found in a private well on Tuesday morning, causing panic among Mutaga villagers, just 15 kilometres from the city.

The body was floating in the well on Mutaga-Mucchandi Road. Sunil Asthekar, a former taluk panchayat member, owns the well. According to police sources, the body appears to be that of a 30-year-old man.

The incident has been reported to the Marihal police station. Police suspect that someone killed the man and threw one part of the body in the well, in order to mislead the investigation.

Police are on the lookout for the accused.
