BENGALURU: The Karnataka high court has issued direction to the state government to ascertain through the Assistant Director of Land Records (ADLR), City Survey Department by conducting a survey on February 4,2023, as to whether the Hopcoms building constructed by Krishik Samaj ( near Hudson circle) is within or outside the area of Cubbon Park in Bengaluru city.
In an order passed on January 25,2023, a division bench headed by Chief Justice Prasanna B Varale has also asked the ADLR to conduct a survey in respect of the standing structure of respondent no.14( Karnataka State Government Employees Association) and submit a report to the court, considering that there is some controversy over the said building/ structure in its interlocutory application filed in relation to the PIL filed by Cubbon Park Walkers Association, Krishik Samaj had expressed apprehension that without seeing permission from the high court, the building constructed incurring huge expenses through Karnataka Housing Board with a motive to provide assistance to farmers, cannot be used.
