Karnataka: Flex naming circle after Veer Savarkar removed in Mangaluru

MANGALURU: A flex that was put up at the Surathkal junction in the city naming the place after Veer Savarkar was removed on Sunday, following complaints.

The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) council had approved a proposal, mooted by Mangaluru City North MLA Dr Y Bharath Shetty, to name the circle at Surathkal in the Mangaluru City North constituency as "Veer Savarkar Circle". A council meeting held in October 2021 had approved and referred the proposal to the MCC’s Standing Committee on Town Planning and the same is awaiting a government nod.
