BAGALKOT: Jamkhandi farmers had drawn attention by constructing a barrage in 1989 to irrigate 35,000 acres of land through crowd funding. Now, they are constructing a barrel bridge to connect Kankanawadi and Guheshwara temple island, which is believed to be diety of Allamaprabhu, one of Sharanas of 12 ventury, which used to get disconnected whenever the Krishna River was filled with water.
