BENGALURU: Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai is expected to walk a tightrope as he is set to approve the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) budget for 2022-23 which was notified minutes before midnight of March 31 amid high drama.

The CM is caught between political compulsions to ensure adequate funds for Bengaluru city MLAs and the law that mandates the size of the civic body's budget should be realistic and based on revenues.
