BENGALURU: Many candidates appearing for the Railway Recruitment Boards Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC) examination have complained that centres assigned to them are far from their home states.
NTPC CBT 2 exam for pay levels 2, 3 and 5 is scheduled for June 12-June 17 and is a computer-based test. A candidate, Satish Kumar, wrote on Twitter: "RRB should plan before making the exam centre list. My board is Ranchi and my exam centre for CBT-2 is Bengaluru, Karnataka. As per RRB, the distance should be within 500 kms. But my journey distance...is about 1900 kms."
Sai Nanda tweeted: "Railway ministry has gone mad over the conducting of CBT level 2 exam. My exam centre is 900Km away from my hometown. Railways are not trying to give jobs for that yet are torturing job aspirants like us." An RRB official said centres are being assigned outside the home state to prevent malpractices. Special trains may be run for the candidates.
