Two veteran journalists are tasked with getting Nine's morning programming back on track after the controversial departure of long-term frontman Karl Stefanovic.
The network has announced stalwarts Sylvia Jeffreys and Tom Steinfort as permanent co-hosts of the network's flagship Today show.
Former co-host Stefanovic made his dramatic departure from both the program and the network in June, after interviewing far-right British activist Tommy Robinson on his podcast.
The almost-hour-long episode of The Karl Stefanovic Show, which is run independently of Nine, was published on June 23 but was pulled down by the following morning.
Nine cut ties with Stefanovic after 26 years in response, saying it was no longer viable for him to host the program and do his podcast at the same time.
Stefanovic's former co-host Sarah Abo, who joined the program on a permanent basis in 2023, announced her departure from the program and network on Wednesday, while on maternity leave.
"Words can't express how grateful I am to our viewers for letting me into your homes to be part of your morning routine," Abo said in a statement.
Stefanovic and Keshnee Ibrahim, the co-owner of his podcast company, ended up in the NSW Supreme Court this week after their business relationship soured.
Ibrahim filed an urgent application for the court to defer a meeting scheduled for Friday, fearing she would be removed as a company director.
Both she and Stefanovic own 45-per-cent stakes in the company that oversees The Karl Stefanovic Show.
Stefanovic's lawyer told the court on Tuesday the former TV host had agreed not to go ahead with Friday's meeting and wanted the court to decide the issue of a buyout, as early as next week.
The matter will return to court in October.
Jeffreys joins Today from her previous gig at Today Extra and Steinfort joins from his previous role as a presenter at 9News Melbourne.
