Karim Adeyemi the Subject of an Audacious Swap Deal Approach From Barcelona

The future of Karim Adeyemi at Borussia Dortmund remains a hot topic amid continued interest from Europe’s elite, with Barcelona now eager to negotiate a deal ready for next summer.

Barcelona Consider Audacious Swap Deal For Karim Adeyemi

Barcelona are already looking ahead to what could be the aftermath of a stunning first season under Hansi Flick.

Six points clear at the summit in Spain and just one winless match in Europe has launched the club back in the mainframe after struggles on and off the pitch in recent seasons.

Those struggles off the pitch continue to bubble under the surface despite the hysteria surrounding Flick’s tactical transformation.

It has been well-documented that Barcelona continue to be the most debt-ridden club in Europe, while the construction of a new £766 million stadium is an expense they will be grappling with for years to come.

With that in mind, Joan Laporta has been forced to be inventive in the transfer market, notably trimming off a considerable chunk of the wage bill over the summer to accommodate, what has so turned out to be a worthwhile signing with the return of Dani Olmo to the club.

Despite breathtaking attacking returns from the likes of  Raphinha and Robert Lewandowksi, the club are reportedly keen to safeguard their future by adding younger personnel.

Recently crowned ‘Golden Boy’ Lamine Yamal has led the next wave of budding young La Masia recruits, but the Blaugrana are also looking further afield, with Hansi Flick eager to add a player he knows particularly well.

Karim Adeyemi was a regular feature in his German international squad, and reports from Spain suggest Ferran Torres could be added as weight to a deal for the 22-year-old.

Torres has featured sporadically for Barca since joining from Manchester City, never reaching double figures for neither goals nor assists in his three seasons in Catalonia.

Barcelona Face Premier League Competition For Adeyemi

Chelsea have long been linked with a move for Adeyemi, most recently last summer after the German was rumoured to be open to a move to the Premier League.

Tottenham and Arsenal have also been strongly linked in the past, but it is unclear where their stance lies.

Adeyemi remains contracted to Dortmund until 2027 meaning a fee in excess of £40 million would likely be commanded.
