Karen’s Diner's most savage reviews as chain set to come to Bristol

Karen’s Diner is coming to Bristol and will offer a whole new eating experience to the people of our city. Originally created in Australia, it boosts an 1950s American-themed diner that prides itself on its deliberately unpleasant service, with staff told to make the experience 'as uncomfortable for the customers as possible'.

Serving stereotypical diner food, with burgers, chicken wings and fries, you instantly feel like you’ve stepped into America as you enter the venue. There are also vegan and vegetarian options on offer, but a word from the wise, expect to be ridiculed and abused for your dietary choice.

Karen’s Diner has a 4.4 out of 5 rating on OpenTable with just over 1,000 reviews. Dozens of customers described their experience as 'amazing', and some of what they’ve had to endure has left many of them in stitches.

One person said: “1 star for service as it was appealing. Insults throughout. Food thrown at table and drinks slammed down but what else would you expect from Karen's diner? Overall a fantastic experience would definitely recommend a visit”

While another wrote: "Food was really tasty, I belly laughed at the insanity of the expas my 10 year old had a birthday f off song sang at her. Staff were actually lovely underneath all of the profanities.”

“Absolutely strange but brilliant experience. Cake was our server. Her and the rest of the staff were funny a.f! My Mrs wore a dress to match the tablecloth and boy was it a bad choice," another said.

Another diner who gave the venue a five star review said: "Service was awful - I was made to clean tables. Jamal in particular was menacing in a delightful way. We loved it."

Here in the UK there are only a few of the diner’s dotted around the country with Bristol’s closest ones being Newport and Birmingham. But the chain is taking their diner on tour and Bristol is one of their stops.

On specific days over the year, Karen’s Diner will be given some of Bristol’s population a dining experience like never before. Tickets for the events on the 23rd April, 9th July and 15th October will cost £40 per person and are available to buy now.

Ryan Blackburn, managing director of Karen's On Tour, said: "Once you're in a Karen's, you'll not be thinking about strikes, Brexit or electricity costs, you'll just be wanting to survive. Customers would need to expect plenty of sass, great food, and a sprinkle of bad attitude.

"Don't expect special treatment as it's all about Karen, and she won't be taking any nonsense. All will be able to have fun and wind the staff up to unleash their inner Karen and see their full Karen potential."
