Karen Gillan has put it out into the universe that she wants to be in a movie based on the epic fail that was Glasgow's Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Experience after footage from the event went viral.
Parents called the police reporting that their children had been left “traumatised” after shelling out £35 a ticket for an event which turned out to be an almost empty Glasgow warehouse decorated with some posters, a rainbow and a bouncy castle.
House of Illuminati, who organised the event, had advertised the experience using AI-scripted posters and adverts.
Social media users around the globe have been totally enthralled by the drama that has ensued, with comparisons being drawn to the infamous Fyre Festival disaster organised by Ja Rule in 2019.
Many have have sent out a digital SOS to streaming giant Netflix asking them to take action be producing a documentary like they did for the Fyre Festival explaining how things went so wrong.
Leading the charge was Guardians of the Galaxy actress Gillan, 36, who took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twiter, to state her case about being involved.
“PLEASE CAST ME IN THIS..” she wrote.
“Like a movie based on this story, not the actual thing. Actually, no, either is fine)”.
Others were on board with getting something made.
“I'm obsessed with this Willy Wonka story. I want this to become the next 6-Part Netflix Documentary - a la Fyre Festival. I want the full account from this actor,” wrote one person.
“Need a whole documentary about the willy wonka event I’m not kidding'; 'i need a documentary and horror movie about the willy wonka experience im so serious'; really won’t be long before channel 4 documentary on the willy wonka experience (sic),” agreed another.
“The fake Willy wonka factory thing is one of the most absurdly funny things I’ve seen in a long time and I hope they make a documentary about it because I have so many questions,” penned a third.
