Kanye West tweets 'Shalom' as he returns to Twitter after ban for antisemitism reversed

Kanye West Tweeted 'shalom' after his account was revived by pal Elon Musk.

The controversial Bound 2 rapper, 45, was removed from the now Elon-owned social media platform for his vile and racist attack on the Jewish community.

But since the SpaceX founder's $44billion (£37m) takeover, he has been allowed back onto the site by his 'friend' and 'chief Twit'.

"Testing testing, seeing if my Twitter is unblocked," Kanye posted to his near-40 million followers at around 9am on Sunday.

A second Tweet was posted that evening as Ye posted "Shalom" at around 6pm – just weeks after he was axed from the platform for anti-Semitism.

Posted alongside a smiling face emoji, the Hebrew word has multiple meanings. It can mean 'peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness prosperity, welfare and tranquillity'.

Shalom is also used to simply mean both hello and goodbye.

Kanye was previously banned from the social media site following a series of bizarre online attacks and vile racist messages.

Ye was blasted for a gross anti-Semitic tweet amid a series of strange posts also shared to his Instagram account – where he was also 'restricted'.

Meta, which owns Instagram, confirmed to The Mirror they had "deleted content from @kanyewest" for violating their policies. They also placed a restriction on his account.

But now, he's back on Twitter and was reinstated just one day after the world's richest man Elon took ownership of the popular website.

It was the beginning of this month that Kanye posted his first tweet in two years, following the restrictions on his Instagram account.

"Welcome back to Twitter, my friend," Elon tweeted to the rapper at the time.

Elon also revealed, following Ye's suspension from Twitter, that he was forced to have words with his 'friend' after the anti-Semitic message.

"Talked to ye today and expressed my concerns about his recent tweet, which I think he took to heart," Musk wrote on Twitter.

The 'talk' didn’t seem to do much as Kanye continued his controversial moves on social media this month – including the tweets to his 30million followers.

Kanye did eventually apologise for his comments in a TV interview, which he walked out of, with TalkTV's Piers Morgan.

He said: "I will say I'm sorry for the people I hurt. I feel like I caused hurt and confusion and I am sorry for the families of the people who had nothing to do with the trauma that I had been through.

"And that I used my platform where you say, I hurt people, and I was hurt."
