Kanye West has sparked new accusations of anti-Semitism, after the rapper made his return to Twitter following Elon Musk's takeover of the platform.
Kanye, also known as Ye, had his Twitter account restricted last month following vile anti-Semitic comments, but returned to the platform on Thursday to post a picture of Brooklyn Nets basketball player Kyrie Irving.
The 30-year-old NBA star is himself facing criticism for sharing a link to an anti-Semitic film on social media.
Following his post, Kyrie and the Nets agreed to donate $500,000 each to "causes and organisations that work to eradicate hate and intolerance in our communities".
Kanye's picture of Kyrie has received more than 240,000 likes and racked up more than 24,000 retweets.
The 45-year-old previously called Kyrie one of the "real ones" as he shared a picture of him to Instagram on Monday.
After his initial social media post was deleted, Kyrie released a joint statement with the Nets and the Anti-defamation League.
It read: "I oppose all forms of hatred and oppression and stand strong with communities that are marginalized and impacted every day.
"I am aware of the negative impact of my post towards the Jewish community and I take responsibility."
Kanye was yet again restricted from Instagram after violating the platform's policies on Tuesday.
The restrictions, thought to be in place for the next 30 days, mean Ye won't be able to post, comment or send direct messages on the platform for the duration. He has also had previous content removed from his account.
As well as the social media ban, Kanye has been dropped by a number of big brands, including Adidas, something which has cost him his billionaire status.
The musician announced his latest Instagram restriction via alternative social media platform Parler, which he is in the process of buying.
Speaking to the PA news agency, a Meta spokesperson confirmed certain content had been removed from Ye's account after it had violated the company's policies.
They also confirmed the rapper's account had been restricted and added that such restrictions were put in place for those who repeatedly break its rules.
