Kanye West is said to be gearing up to launch a renewed campaign to win back ex-wife Kim Kardashian following her shock split from Pete Davidson.
The 45-year-old rap sensation was married to 41-year-old former sex tape star Kim in 2014 but they split in 2021 and had their divorce finalised earlier this year.
Following the collapse of her marriage, Kim embarked on a high profile romance with 28-year-old comedian Pete – with the pair believed to have first got together last October, going public with their love at the beginning of the year.
But reports emerged on Friday that the couple had broken up – and now Kanye is said to have taken note of his opportunity to strike and try to win back the mother of his four children
A source told The Sun on Sunday: "This split is only driving Kanye to push harder to win Kim back and have her call off their divorce.
"For months he told his wife that she and Pete were not destined to last.
"And while Kanye was not Pete’s biggest fan, he focused in recent weeks on showing Kim that they were compatible and a solid family.”
However, another source told the publication that Kim is “unlikely” to change her mind over their divorce which was finalised back in March.
Kim and Pete’s romance struggled in it’s infancy as they faced near constant bombardment from Kanye as he challenged their romance.
The rapper made shocking accusations against Kim and her family – suggesting she had organised an assassin to kill him and that they accused him of being on drugs.
He also made veiled threats against Pete through his music, with violent lyrics against the comedian and a music video showing the rapper burying an effigy of the SNL star alive.
News of Kim and Kanye’s split emerged on Friday – with sources close to Kim quickly lining up to suggest she pulled the plug.
A source told PageSix: "Pete is 28 and Kim is 41 — they are just in very different places at the moment.
"Pete is totally spontaneous and impulsive and wants her to fly to New York, or wherever he is on a moment’s notice. But Kim has four kids and it isn’t that easy. She needs to focus on the kids."
While another source said that although they have "a lot of love and respect for each other," the long distance and demanding work schedules "made it really difficult to maintain a relationship."
Pete has been brutally mocked online over the end of the relationship – with many fans joking about the fact he got tattoos in honour of Kim and her family just weeks before the split.
