A top outside group supporting Kamala Harris has made a significant move in the final stretch of the presidential race by disclosing a massive $71.6 million in new ad buys. The group, FF PAC, has taken the lead in providing support for Harris and reported this substantial expenditure in a recent filing with the Federal Election Commission.

The $71.6 million worth of independent expenditures were all allocated to media buys made on October 15. While specific details on state targeting were not included in the FEC filing, data from AdImpact reveals how FF PAC is strategically budgeting its resources as the election nears.

With a total of $140.5 million in ad reservations remaining from now until Election Day, FF PAC is focusing its efforts on key swing states. The breakdown of spending in these states includes:

  • $30.3 million targeting Pennsylvania
  • $20.9 million targeting Michigan
  • $19.7 million targeting Georgia
  • $14.8 million targeting Arizona
  • $14.4 million targeting Wisconsin
  • $13.7 million targeting North Carolina
  • $1.3 million targeting Nevada
Remaining $140.5 million in ad reservations focus on swing states.

In addition to state-specific ad buys, FF PAC also has approximately $24.8 million in national ad reservations remaining. The group's FEC filing indicates that it has already spent around $315 million on independent expenditures related to the presidential race this year.

As the election draws closer, FF PAC's substantial remaining ad bookings of $140.5 million overshadow those of pro-Trump outside groups, which have a combined total of $85 million in remaining ad bookings. The group's funding sources include $56 million from a liberal dark money group, $19 million from Michael Bloomberg, $10 million from Reid Hoffman, and $9.1 million from James Simons.

FF PAC is expected to file a detailed monthly report with the FEC soon, providing insights into its fundraising and spending activities. With a significant cash reserve of about $84 million at the end of August, the group is poised to play a crucial role in the final weeks of the presidential race.
