President Joe Biden recently made a gaffe while attempting to defend Puerto Ricans, where he seemed to refer to former President Donald Trump's supporters as 'trash.' This incident has been viewed as an opportunity for Vice President Kamala Harris to distinguish herself, according to Jon Favreau, a former Obama administration speechwriter and host of 'Pod Save America.'
Favreau highlighted that while this incident may pose a challenge for Joe Biden, it presents an opening for Kamala Harris. He noted that Harris delivered a speech emphasizing her desire to connect with people, including Trump supporters, during the same time Biden made his controversial statement. Harris reiterated this sentiment in subsequent interactions with the media, underscoring the importance of not disparaging Trump supporters.
