Leeds United hope to make between £50m and £55m on Kalvin Phillips’s transfer to Manchester City if a variety of clauses are reached in the deal. Advanced talks with the Premier League champions virtually reached an agreement on Friday afternoon and the transfer should go through in the near future.
The Athletic first reported the news on Friday afternoon and it looks increasingly likely advanced talks between the two clubs will now yield the exit of Elland Road's prized homegrown asset. Darko Gyabi, an 18-year-old midfielder at City, is expected to join United in a separate deal.
Phillips had two years left on his contract at Elland Road and had at no previous point pushed for a move away from his hometown club, but the allure of the champions and Pep Guardiola has proved too hard to turn down. The transfer could be finalised next week.

Multiple outlets have reported City will pay £42m with £3m in add-ons for the England international, while the Whites are understood to be hopeful they will see more than £50m if all of the conditions within the deal are met. After the agreement between the two clubs, Phillips's personal terms are expected to be addressed next week.
