Kalvin Phillips sent his support to former Leeds United team-mate Luke Ayling, as the defender posted a passionate message on his social media channels about his milestone appearance for the club.
Ayling scored his first Premier League goal at Elland Road in what was his 250th appearance for the Whites. It helped Sam Allardyce's side to a 2-2 draw against Newcastle United, which could yet prove vital in Leeds' hopes of winning their battle to avoid relegation from the top flight.
Following the milestone appearance, Ayling took to Instagram to send his thanks to supporters and give a message with regard to the survival fight. Ayling wrote: "250 games for this great club. The next 2 will be the most important of them all!! Fans INSIDE Elland Road, thank you!!"

Ayling's former Leeds team-mate Phillips, now of course at Manchester City, was quick to reply with a message of support for the 31-year-old, replying in the comments of the post to say: "What a man," accompanied by a love heart and praising hands emojis.
Phillips will no doubt be keeping a close eye on events at Leeds while also focusing on Manchester City's efforts to complete an historic treble this season. At Leeds, they have games against West Ham (A) and Tottenham (H) to try and secure their Premier League status.
