Kalidou Koulibaly may have taken the bold step of following in John Terry's footsteps wearing the No.26 at Stamford Bridge - but he does so with the former Chelsea captain's blessing.
The Senegalese defender completed his £33.8m switch to the Blues earlier this month from Serie A giants Napoli, where he had also donned the No.26 jersey during his eight-year stay. Koulibaly, 31, looks set to slot straight into Thomas Tuchel's back line in west London after a number of departures over the summer, including Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
But despite it being five years since Terry has moved on, his treasured No.26 shirt has remained vacant in the interim. Given his legendary status at the club, where he won five Premier League titles and the Champions League, it's not difficult to see why.
