Kai Havertz has taken to social media to say goodbye to yet another Chelsea teammate as the exodus from Stamford Bridge continues. With a move to Arsenal now all but confirmed for himself, he is on an effective farewell tour of the club.
After having his medical over the weekend, Havertz is expected to sign for the Gunners in the coming days after leaked images of his first interview already emerging. The 24-year-old will transfer across London for around £65million ($82.6million) after three years at Stamford Bridge.
With two years left on his contract, Arsenal have moved quickly to secure him with the need for added depth and quality in the frontline. The German is now likely to be the fourth Chelsea player confirmed as leaving this summer after N'Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly departed for Saudi Pro League clubs.
Having played a key part in the 2021 Champions League win with Kante and benefitting from the expereince and character of Koulibaly, Havertz has penned heartfelt goodbyes to his former teamates on Intsagram this week. This time it was in response to the sale of Mateo Kovacic.
The Croatia midfielder has moved to Manchester City in a deal worth £35million ($44.5million). With one year left on his deal and a season of poor form and injuries behind him, it is a deal that appears to benefit all parties but once more shows the continued changes at SW6.
In the space of six months Chelsea will have lost their 2021 keystones in Havertz, Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic as well as finding themselves without compensation for Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen last summer as well. Mauricio Pochettino's plan to revamp and overhaul the squad will also mean saying goodbye to Havertz.

He wrote on Instagram in response to Kovacic's departure: "Thanks for everything you did to help me on and off the pitch. Best of luck with your move."
Shortly it will be Havertz receiving the messages from Chelsea's remaining players but for now he is still on the books as a blue. With his own exit on the horizon, his goodbye to Kovacic is not just a parting message but also a holding message for his own exit soon to come.
In the meantime he has also continued to tease fans with another post. In an image of him sat on a ball, Havertz wrote: "A love that never ends. [Black heart, football emoji.]"
It comes just days after his decision to upload a picture of himself with Kovacic before confirmation of his move to City and also former Chelsea defender Christensen over the weekend. In a series of social media hints and activity, Havertz was also captured on Jorginho's Instagram at Kepa Arrizabalaga's wedding.
It angered Chelsea fans that saw it as disrespectful to his current side but once more all but confirmed the worst kept secret that he is a new Arsenal player.
