Kai Havertz has sympathised with Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk for having to deal with the pressure of joining Chelsea for 'a lot of money'. In September 2020, the Germany international became most expensive signing in the Blues' history, joining from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal though to be worth around £72million.
He was one of the first signings which the west London outfit made following a transfer window ban. Havertz arrived at Stamford Bridge as one of Europe's most exciting young players, reportedly beating the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to his signature.
Despite Havertz's star-studded reputation, he struggled to acclimatise to life at Chelsea. In his first Premier League season, the forward featured 27 times for the Blues and directly contributed towards just nine goals, with five of which coming over six games in the latter stages of the campaign.
