Kaali: Patna police refuses to lodge FIR against director and Mahua Moitra

PATNA: The state BJP Kala cell convener Barun Kumar Singh said on Thursday that the Kotwali police refused to let his team file an FIR against the 'Kaali' film director Leena Manimekalai for issuing a poster of the film in which Maa Kaali has been shown as smoking a cigarette.

Singh and his team had also decided to file the FIR against TMC MP Mahua Moitra who had tweeted that goddess Kaali loved meat and drink. Singh maintained before the Kotwali police that the stance of the film director and Moitra had hurt the sentiments of Hindus, but the Kotwali police remained stiff and adamant in refusing to register the FIR. "We could not file the FIR," Singh said.
