South Korean singer and actress Kwon Mina, formerly of the popular K-Pop girl group AOA, was hospitalised after a suicide attempt in Seoul on 1 January 2026. The 32-year-old alarmed fans with an Instagram post titled 'Goodbye and I'm sorry.' She was found and rescued by acquaintances just in time, roughly two hours later.
In a follow-up post, Kwon recounted her experience of drifting in and out of awareness before her rescue. According to Allkpop, she wrote: 'My consciousness kept fading in and out, and I kept screaming 'please' in my head then I was rescued again. I've become like the boy who cried wolf.'
