Juventus make clear stance on Paul Pogba exit as former Man United star turns 30

Juventus have reportedly denied that there are any plans in place to terminate Paul Pogba's contract at the club following his latest injury setback.

Reports in Italy have speculated that the club are considering three options for the former Manchester United player's future, the most drastic of which was cutting ties completely. The others were to renegotiate the wage that Pogba receives in light of these ongoing injury issues or to carry on as is in the hope his health returns.

The France international, who turned 30 years old today, has made just two appearances since re-joining the Italian giants during the summer after departing Old Trafford as a free agent. Pogba underwent surgery on a torn meniscus and has recently tweaked his adductor.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Juventus do not intend to end the midfielder's second spell. “Juventus have already denied any plan to terminate the contract of Paul Pogba following speculation in the Italian press,” Romano's CaughtOffside column says. “Of course, Pogba has been unlucky with injuries this season, but I’m sure Juventus and Pogba both want to change the history and improve things next season.”

These reports chime with what the club's CEO Francesco Calvo said last month when claiming there are no plans to part ways. Doubts about that stance arose since those comments due to the injuries and the player missing a match after turning up late to a pre-match team dinner, for which he received a fine.
