Justin Bieber has hit out at H&M after the clothing company created new merchandise using the singer's face, apparently without his permission.
The 28-year-old singer took to his Instagram Story on Monday to denounce the high street brand's "trash" new items which feature his face and lyrics.
"I didn't approve any of the merch collection that they put up at H&M… all without my permission and approval. SMH I wouldn't buy it if I were you," he told fans.
In another snap, Justin added: "The H&M merch they made of me is trash and I didn't approve it don't buy it."
The Baby hitmaker also left a comment on the @jbiebertraacker Instagram page under a post about the products.
"When everyone finds out I didn’t approve any of this merch smh," he said.
The merchandise includes products such as a sweater dress with a black and white photo of Justin, a canvas bag with a collage of snaps and a phone case with the lyric "I miss you more than life" printed on.
"As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M followed proper approval procedures," the brand said in a statement to People.
The Mirror has approached H&M for comment.
Fans were quick to respond to Justin's Instagram comment, with many vowing not to buy from H&M's line.
One person wrote: "Justin just said he didn’t approve any of this merch. He thinks it’s trash. Y’all, don’t buy!"
"Not gonna buy it after Justin’s comment," another said while a third fan commented: "Even Justin said the merch is trash. Don’t buy it. I had a feeling this wasn’t his idea."
H&M previously sold merchandise promoting Justin's Purpose Tour in 2016 as well as his Stadium Tour in 2017. The latter was promoted by the singer at the time.
In 2020, H&M released a collection inspired by Justin's album Changes, which received no public complaints from the musician.
Justin has his own set of merch for sale on his official website, including hoodies, sweatpants and t-shirts featuring his image and lyrics from his latest album Justice.
He also has his own clothing line called Drew, in reference to his middle name, which was launched in 2019 with the help of Ryan Good.
