Ticketing site AXS contacted various ticketholders on February 28 to confirm the cancellation to the upcoming UK shows due to take place in March 2023. But what should fans do now who are out of pocked and out of a show to go to?
The next step in the cancellation process should be automatic for refunds but there are certain rules fans will need to follow depending on where they bought tickets from, and for what show.
Lisa Braithwaite, music expert at Skiddle said: "It's a worrying period for the industry, with the knock-on effects of these cancellations being felt not only by the fans themselves but the venues and the dedicated teams of staff who operate them.
"It has been reported that refunds for Bieber's cancelled dates have been notoriously hard to come by. If you have a ticket and seek a refund, our guidance would be to check any advice posted by your ticket provider online and to speak with them directly, to find out what your options are."
We have compiled a handy guide below of important refund and cancellation information you'll need for various ticket sites. If the below doesn't clarify or give you the information you need, it will also be worth contacting the venue direct for more details.
AXS
Ticketing site AXS contacted Justin Bieber ticketholders on Tuesday, February 28 to inform them of upcoming cancellations, which include Manchester and London dates.
Refund information in the emails sent to fans, seen by the Manchester Evening News, reads: "Refunds will be issued automatically back to the account you used when making the purchase. Please note, this process can take up to 10 working days to be completed.
"If you bought accessible seating or seats from the venue box office, please contact the venue directly for assistance."
It's also worth noting that if you booked on a card that no longer exists or has been cancelled for whatever reason, you will need to contact AXS or the venue directly to get this changed to a new card, you will need to have proof of identification though to amend these details.
AXS can be contacted via live chat on their website here, or via email and via social media accounts here.
Ticketmaster
For those who bought tickets for Justin Bieber's shows on Ticketmaster then a refund should be issued automatically, Ticketmaster says. The ticket site state that they refund the face value for each ticket, so any admin fees included on the original price will not be refunded.
Ticketmaster explain that fans will see a credit onto the card after they have emailed ticketholders about the cancellation with a timescale. If your card has expired since making the booking, Ticketmaster provide information on how refunds are processed here.
For a card expiry, their advice reads: "On the advice of our bank, we can only refund the card that was originally used to pay, this is to make sure that the refund goes to the right place and avoids any problems. Most of the time, if you've had a replacement card for the same account then your refund will go into your account automatically and you won't need to do anything.
"If your account is closed or you've had a replacement card and the refund still isn't appearing in your account after 15 days, please contact your card issuer. They'll be holding the funds for you and will be able to arrange a transfer to your new account. Unfortunately, we can't reclaim the money and issue the refund to a new card for you."
If you still need to contact Ticketmaster you can do so by visiting their website here or speaking to them on their social media channels here.
