Justin Bieber Dublin concert in jeopardy as singer set to 'take a break'

Justin Bieber has announced that he will be taking a break from touring to focus on his health.

The 28-year-old hitmaker, who is due to play Dublin's 3Arena in February of next year, shared a statement to Instagram, explaining that the decision was reached after his recent performances "took a real toll" on him.

"Earlier this year, I went public about my battle with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome, where my face was partly paralyzed," he explained.

"As a result of this illness, I was not able to complete the North America leg of the Justice Tour.

"After resting and consulting with my doctors, family and team, I went to Europe in an effort to continue with the tour. I performed six live shows, but it took a real toll on me.

"This past weekend, I performed at Rock in Rio and I gave everything I have to the people in Brazil. After getting off stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realized I need to make my health the priority right now."

The singer continued: "I've been so proud to bring this show and our message of Justice to the world.

"Thank you for your prayers and support throughout all of this! I love you all passionately!"

He did not reveal when he would resume his tour. There were 70 shows scheduled including Dublin as well as dates in the UK, Europe, South America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

The singer revealed to fans that he has Ramsay Hunt Syndrome back in June when he posted videos of himself speaking to the camera, showing half of his face experiencing paralysis.

The condition is a complication of the shingles virus.
